When you come for a tour of Barnwood Events, it’s rare that we would have the space set up for an indoor wedding, and some people have a hard time visualizing what an indoor wedding would look like. If you’re planning for an indoor wedding, or wanting to visualize your bad weather back up plan, this blog goes over our indoor ceremony options.
Porch
Our most popular set up for indoor ceremonies is in our porch area, with wall-to-wall windows overlooking trees and the Capital City Bike Trail. This area can fit 200 guests with four to five chairs on each side of the aisle.
At the end of the aisle, we can set up an ivory curtain backdrop (for an additional fee), the arbor of your choice, and a barrel for the officiant if needed. The rest of the room can be decorated however you want, with options to use our closet of complimentary decor to make the space your own.
The bridal party walks from the larger dressing room – near the front of the barn – to the back of the aisle, and then process down the aisle toward the north end of the building.
Once the ceremony is over, guests head into the main hall of the venue for cocktail hour. It takes our team about twenty minutes to take down the indoor ceremony and turn the porch back into the typical reception set up, or set up of your choice.
If your wedding has more than 200 guests, they will not all fit in the porch, so ceremonies take place in the main hall of the barn. We set up the tables and chairs for dinner to all face one direction – toward the big barn doors – and make an aisle down the middle.
We place the arbor of your choice and other decor to make your ceremony special in front of our big barn doors. The bridal party processes from the smaller dressing room, near the bar, down the aisle.
After the “I do’s,” guests can get cocktails and enjoy the main hall or the porch while our team removes the ceremony decor.
We’d love to show you our space and talk more about what you imagine for your indoor ceremony – or your back up plan in case of bad weather for your outdoor ceremony. Reach out if you have questions or would like a walk-through of our space!
